| Description: | Kicking off the Gathering is Michael Martin Murphey on April 1st for two concerts. On April 2nd we have Belinda Gail in concert at 6pm, and also Waddie Mitchell the Great Cowboy Poet for April 2nd and 3rd. Asleep at the Wheel, winner of 9 Grammies will perform at 6 pm Saturday, so expect a great show and get your dancing shoes on! We are going to have a true Wild West experience in East Tennessee, at the French Broad Outpost Ranch in Del Rio. You can expect to enjoy not only these great musicians and poets but most of the following with your daily ticket: ⢠Cowboy Action Shooting exhibitions-see them shoot in authentic dress of the times ⢠Cowboy Mounted Shooting exhibitions-see Cowboys -n- Cowgirls shoot off their horses Pro Match Saturday ⢠Quick Draw Exhibitions with real professionals ⢠Square Dancing-dance a little jig on the main stage open to everyone ⢠Pioneer Games for families (3 legged race, tug of war, spoon race, sack race, log chop) -compete against others and win prizes ⢠Chuck Wagon cook off (Saturday only) with prizes and taste testing prizes-you taste and judge with prize giveaway ⢠Wagon rides each day-hop on the wagon for a great time ⢠Horseshoe hunts for kids with prizes ⢠Horse painting for kids (weather permitting) ⢠Entertainment Live bands Roping exhibitions Tomahawk and knife throwing Medicine shows Daily Reenactments of the Gunfight at the OK Corral and Wild Bill Hickok's last poker game, with the dead man's hand Storytelling of the grand old west from different Cowboy Poet tellers ⢠Best Authentic Dressed award prizes-Come dressed in your best western clothes adults and kids ⢠Vendors with all types of authentic Western merchandise to see and buy $$=Extra cost to participate ⢠$$ Skeet Shooting for fun or enter the contest to win prizes ⢠$$ Horseback rides - 1/2 hour rides along the river ⢠$$ Winchester 73 rifle contest-you can pay to practice or just come experienced and enter the contest ⢠$$ Quick Draw contests-see Experts shoot-then enter the contest to win prizes | |||
