From Hamilton County Fair Website:

The County Fair is locally considered to be the official kickoff of the fall season in Hamilton County. Held on the last weekend in September each year, the County Fair attracts over 50,000 people for the two-day event. The Fair is held on Dallas Island in Chester Frost Park, a 280-acre lakefront Hamilton County facility located in North Hamilton County, about 15 miles from downtown. Fairgoers are shuttled to the park via Bus Shuttle. There is no admission charge, but there is a shuttle fee. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome aboard the transportation. The fair is open both days from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm and is held rain or shine.

The County Fair celebrates our community's heritage and traditions through the arts, crafts, music, food and blue ribbon awards. The fair features live entertainment from a variety of local bands and showcases dozens of exhibits, contests, demonstrations, food vendors, craft artists, and hands-on activities for the children.

Historical exhibits, such as soap making and blacksmithing, educate and entertain. Children's & Teen activities and entertainment are continuous throughout the two day event. Blue ribbon competition in livestock, agriculture, home centered events and the flower show attract participants of all ages. Poultry exhibits, pony and train rides all contribute to a good time to be had by fairgoers. Held at Chester Frost park on Lake Chickamauga, the beautiful setting lends itself perfectly to the nostalgic theme of the fair.
