Description: | From Mountaineer Folk Festival Website: This family-friendly event celebrates the heritage of the Cumberland Plateau with a
presentation of music, food and pioneer skills. The festival kicks off Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. with the official cannon firing, followed with music and square dancing. Saturday's activities will include pioneer demonstrations, music, storytelling, crafts and food booths. Pioneer demonstrations will include a sorghum mill, blacksmithing, a Civil War encampment, broom making and chair bottoming.
Sunday will include gospel music, storytelling and pioneer skills demonstrations. The festival weekend will include over 100 craft booths with items such as woodworking, wrought iron, folk art, soaps, candles, leatherworks and basketweaving.
The Friends of Fall Creek Falls will collect donations at the gate to support future festivals.
