The Niota Fried Green Tomato Festival, now entering it's 5th year, is a one day family (No Alcohol Allowed) Rain or Shine event/festival filled with pet, craft, art, jewelry, food and many other type vendors, and O' yes .. Fried Green Tomato's too! Set in the downtown area of historical Niota, Tennessee (SE TN), off I-75, Exit #56, just off Hwy. 11 South, the festival is held each year as a fundraising effort in which proceeds are used to restore Tennessee's oldest, standing depot that proudly serves as the center of attraction for the festival. This year the festival will begin with a 6 AM Pancake Breakfast prepared fresh by The Beef Barn LLC (Owner, Mark Nightwolf). On this year's tentative (look for more, more, more) schedule there will be costume characters, bounce houses, water slides and water attractions, monster spider jumpers, a petting zoo, an air-conditioned video gaming truck filled with the latest video gaming systems & games for children as well as adults. Pony rides, a Kid's Parade, A Pet Stomp Parade, Hot Air Balloon for rides, Tractor Show, Car Show, Beauty Pageant, Music and much more!
