What Is Celebrate Munford?

Celebrate Munford, Inc. is a non-profit group of citizens from the community, who exist to promote Munford - its people and places. All money raised by this organization is returned to the community through its programs, events, and scholarships.

The Committee is always looking for people who may be interested in joining this small, but effective group and would be enthusiastic about leading the event into new endeavors and achievements for the community.

This organization sponsors special events for the public to enjoy each year. Since 1984,Celebrate Munford has sponsored an arts and crafts festival. The festival is a day-long event that is held in the downtown area of Munford and features vending areas for local artists to sell and show off their works. It also features three entertainment stages: talent, gospel and the center stage filled with a multitude of musicians. This event is held on the third Saturday of September each year. Vendors are encouraged to attend and sign up for a booth space for a nominal fee based on what the vendor is offering for sale or advertisement.

Celebrate Munford also sponsors a spectacular event in July called Celebrate Independence. During this evening show, the public is invited to bring a family style picnic on the grounds at Poplar Park on College & Douglas Streets and enjoy the music and the opportunity to visist with friends. There is always a spectacular display of fireworks, which can be seen for miles around.

The Celebrate Munford group is proud to also sponsor three Munford High School Seniors during their first year at college. The Celebrate Munford Scholarship Fund provides $1,500 to three seniors - either public or home schooled who reside in the MHS school district - who complete a comprehensive application and interview process each year. The scholarships are designed to assist students who can show a financial need and plan to attend college, vocational or trade school somewhere in the State of Tennessee.

Additionally, Celebrate Munford, Inc. offers grants to organizations that provide services to the citizens of Munford and throughout Tipton County. Grants to date have exceeded $150,000.
